Cross-border worker
Before hiring a non-European national living in a neighbouring country, you must obtain a long-term authorisation to work.
From 01/10/24 onwards, employers must apply for a (short-term or long-term) authorisation to work for a cross-border worker. The type of authorisation to work to be requested depends on the position held by the cross-border worker.
