There are currently eight major accredited business counters where you can submit your application to have your company or NPO registered in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE). They will be gladly assist you to obtain your enterprise number!

The website of the Federal Public Service Economy provides more information on the accredited business counters. Each accredited business counter has several offices throughout the country:

Right to registration in the CBE

The registration fee is EUR 90.50 per establishment unit for:

  • the registration of an establishment subject to registration
  • the registration of an additional establishment
  • the amendment or deletion

Appeal

If the accredited business counters refuses your request for (amendment of) the registration in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises, you may appeal against this decision to the Conseil d'Etablissement (Council of Establishments) within thirty days after notification of the refusal by the business counter.

The appeal is signed by the applicant and sent by registered mail to the following address:

The Conseil d'Etablissement is an administrative court composed as follows:

  • the chairman (a magistrate or a lawyer);
  • two assessors representing the Minister of Economy;
  • one assessor representing the middle classes

The clerk summons the parties at least eight days before the hearing. The files may be consulted by the persons lodging an appeal or their representatives from the time of the summons to the hearing. The Conseil d'Etablissement can take all measures to inform itself, including questioning witnesses. The Conseil d'Etablissement deliberates in camera, decides by majority vote and announces its decision within 60 days of the appeal being lodged.
