Warranty Fund for the event and cultural sector prolonged

25 August 2022

Benefit from a warranty of up to 150,000 euros in case of cancellation, postponement or quota restrictions for the organisation of events in Brussels.

The current health crisis context can lead to cancellations, postponements or quota restrictions for events. In that case, the Brussels Warranty Fund will under certain conditions cover the organisers for their financial loss.

The Warranty Fund is available to every Brussels company organising an event on Brussels territory. This event should be:

  • temporary
  • accessible to the public against payment
  • organised in accordance with the health measures
  • related to art, entertainment or leisure (including trade fairs and conferences)

For cancelled events, the Fund will cover the non-recoverable and non-voidable expenses for the event up to 30% of the event's global budget at most.

For postponed events, the Fund will cover 90% of the expenses that could not be postponed.

Lastly, for events that had a quota restriction forced upon them, the Fund will cover 100% of the reimbursement for tickets that had to be reimbursed because of the quota reduction in case of of financial loss.

For each of these situations, the maximum amount of the Warranty is 150,000 euros, with a maximum of 750,000 euros per company should several events of the same company have to be covered by the Warranty Fund.

You have until 15 November 2022 to submit your application. The application must be submitted no later than 1 month before the event. This only concerns events that are to take place before 31 March 2023 and for which the expenses budget amounts to at least 25,000 euros.
