Journalist

If the non-European worker is a journalist, the need for authorisation depends on the duration of the employment in Belgium.

The journalist is exclusively working for a newspaper published abroad, or for a press agency, a radio or television station established abroad. They are coming to Belgium for 90 days or more.

Apply for a single permit "in the frame of an exemption"

The journalist lives abroad. They are exclusively working for a newspaper published abroad, or for a press agency, a radio or television station established abroad. They are coming to Belgium for at most 90 consecutive days.

You do not need to ask Brussels Economy and Employment for employment authorisation in order to work in Belgium.(automatic exemption by virtue of article 2.15 of the royal decree dated 9 June 1999)
