Highly qualified staff or director
If the non-European worker is highly qualified or exercises a management function, the type of authorisation varies based on the duration of the employment in Belgium. The documents to be supplied vary based on whether or not the worker is seconded.

The director / highly qualified employee will work in Belgium for over 90 days. They will be seconded.
This concerns you if the yearly remuneration of the worker exceeds the following amount should you file your application :
- highly qualified worker: 44.097 euros in 2022 and 47.174 euros in 2023
- director: 73.570 euros in 2022 and 78.704 euros in 2023
The director / highly qualified employee will work in Belgium for over 90 days. The social security will be paid in Belgium.
This concerns you if the yearly remuneration of the worker exceeds the following amount should you file your application :
- highly qualified worker: 44.097 euros in 2022 and 47.174 euros in 2023
- director: 73.570 euros in 2022 and 78.704 euros in 2023
The director / highly qualified employee will work in Belgium for maximum 90 days. They will be seconded.
This concerns you if the yearly remuneration of the worker exceeds the following amount should you file your application :
- highly qualified worker: 44.097 euros in 2022 and 47.174 euros in 2023
- director: 73.570 euros in 2022 and 78.704 euros in 2023
(In case of successive jobs, the previous periods will be taken into account for the calculation of the 90 days. If the 90 days are exceeded, see the procedure for a single permit.)
